Jesus suffered on the cross. The Virtual Kingdom Hall

The Answer Is Simple But It Brings Up A Lot Of Other Questions.

The first question is how can the Watchtower Society teach that Christ Jesus died on a torture stick?  We know that Peter wrote "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree..." (1 Peter 2:24).  Did Peter mean an upright stake or the cross?   As we learned from the previous page, it could not have been a stake.

Is it possible that Peter could have been thinking of the cross which is made of wood and has branches when he wrote about a tree?  As you look into this issue you will also see how much more Christ Jesus would have suffered on a cross then on a stick. You will begin to get a greater appreciation for what He did for you.  There are two other verses that you may want to look at:

John 20:25 - "The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord." So he said to them, "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe."

Twice John quotes Thomas as saying "nails." Not "nail."  If His hands were over His head then the Romans would have only used one nail.  Like in the picture you have.  What did Thomas know that would have made him say nails?

Matthew 27:37 - "And they put over His head the accusation written against Him..."

The question to ask is why over His head and not over His hands as it would have been on a stake and on your picture?

Jehovah's only begotten Son suffered a terrible death on the cross for your sins.  You know that you are in the truth but how can the truth teach about a torture stake?  Could there be another truth?  Jesus said that He is the Truth and the only way to the Father is through Him (John 14:6).  He did not say that the way is through an religion, church, or organization.  He said that He is the Way!

Please consider into looking deeper into what you are learning.  Paul tells us "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all men." (1 Timothy 2:5-6)   So you see that you do not need the "144,000 mediator class" to help you work out your salvation.

Also please understand that no true Christian will ever tell you to worship the cross.  These pages talk about the cross only to help you see that the Watchtower Society teachings are not from the Bible.  They may have told you that Christendom worships the cross and that is simply not true!

Jehovah loves you with a greater love then the Society has ever told you.  "But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that wile we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, having now been Justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him." (Romans 5:8,9).  Please stop trusting in your good works, and ask the Lord Jesus to save you.  "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him" (Matthew 11;28).  The next page will explain how to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior.
